PGO - Digital Interface

May 6, 2013

                I got late on this day because I received a laptop on the morning one of our board mate, she said that we they arrived here and try to open it won’t boot.  So I decided to check up and diagnose her laptop. And I found out that the problem is the hard drive. I try to fix it and fortunately it works so I repaired it not less than 1 hour. Then we go the Philippine Global Outsourcing at 9:00 am, but Mr.Cubos not yet there so we waited for him. When he arrived he said to us to wait because he has something to do first. On that day we see how he scolded the UM students because they had change the lay out what Mr.Cubos given to their last day. Mr.Cubos said to them that they should go away immediately. I and Ren got shocked of what we heared. After a moment he also scolded the one student of HCB because he did not finished her work for a 1 week period. Then he called us and said that we should take our lunch and came back early to start our first work. He said that we should observe first of what did the other OJT’s did so we can learn. At 6:00 pm we had leaved the office.

                This day I with my partners Ren, Lovely, Gretti got early in the office. But again Mr.Cubos still not there so we wait him again because Lovely and Gretti is the first day here. When he arrived I talked to him and said that the two are already here. And proximately he make us our own folder named _Poly and inside on it our own folder with our respective name. He give us a task with also the help of the OJT`s from HCB. We did not finish it yet and we had taken our lunch. But before we took our lunch Gretti and Lovely said that they would not come back in the office. So after lunch we go to Digital Interface to ask permission if we can go back and finished our duty there. Fortunately they accept us and said to them that we should go back tomorrow.

                This day is our first day of duty in the other 200 hours of our duty. There are few technicians that are there so too many repairs are pending’s. So we do multi-tasking again to reduce it. But because I am not so familiar with printer I only fixed few. On this day also we had discuss the system that we should make. Sir RenPisao already makes the diagram of how the system works. He said he can help us but not in programming but only seeing us how we make it because he is not good in programming but he is a ComSci graduate. So I said I should start it on Monday because I don’t have yet any software’s that should I used to build this system.

                This day we had an onsite service on the SM Ecoland. Because There are 3 Cargos that will arrived and we are expected who will unload the 603 all in one desktop and 603 Monitors. It is so very exhausted because from the parking lot the storage area at the 4^th floor we manually brought the desktops there. We had only finished 2 Cargos at this day ended at 8:00 pm. We unload 603 monitors and 213 desktops. After we eat our dinner and go home.

                This day we continue our onsite service on SM Ecolond to continue unloading the remaining 390 desktops. Because of the rain we had not finished it early. I got many scratches in my hand and many pains in my body because we do it very fast to finished it early because of too much time wasted because of the rain. I decided to absent tomorrow because I got cough and sinus because of two days hard work. But our senior not give us permissions because we should continue our work tomorrow here at SM to deploy 3 training room  with 29 computer each rooms. So I decided not to absent either. We finished again at 8:00 pm and took our dinner at MangInasal and go home.

                We got early at SM and ask the permission one of the head in SM Ecoland at Teleperformance if we can start not deploying the desktop computers in the training rooms. In the morning we had finished one training room and took our lunch at MangInasal. After we took our lunch we continued our work at the second training room and finished at 6:00 pm. This day is very exhausted also because we had to do our job fast because it will be used in other day. I also knew that the Teleperformance need 2,000 Trainees to be an Agent in their company. After the work I go back to our boarding house because I will go home today.

                I don’t wait my partner because she still on the road and if I will wait her I will get late also. I came at our office almost 8:30 and she came almost 9:00. We’re not too busy this day there are only limited of repairs that we received and because the technicians had no on site duties the works inside the office had no pending’s at this time. At the afternoon one of the technician threat us a snack after the duty at the bakeshop. After we took our snack we go home immediately.

                We woke up early this day to avoid late again. In this day we enter in our office at 8:25 am. This day I and Sir RenPisao are assigned on an onsite duty at AMA College to replace the 18 non-functional main boards of their computer desktops at the CISCO Room. We started at 10:00 am and stop at 12:00pm to had a lunch, and after we took our lunch we go to JS Ilustre to buy a staple. At 1:00 pm we start again and finished our work at 3:30 pm. We go back to the Digital Office and brought the main boards that are not working. After a few minutes we go out and had a snack in the bakeshop and go home.

                We got late this day because were late also when we slept last night because we had a fun time with our classmates at our boarding house. In this day there are too much repairs because of the holiday last day. The other technicians are onsite so too much pending of repairs are waiting’s. We got tired today because we do multi-tasking to reduce the pending’s. This day is tiredly but full of enjoyment and new learning’s that endured to us because of pressures we had learned a lot.

                This is the last day of our duty in Digital Interface. We decided to go at Philippine Global Outsourcing in the afternoon. Because we don’t know the exact places where it is located, we ask many people but the other is not familiar in that company. We search it for more than 1 hour before we find it. I spoke to Mr. Christopher John Cubos if when we can start our duty; he said to me that we go back on Monday. We returned to the office and ask the permissions to our seniors that we will go to Phil. Global Outsourcing on Monday but the said, that we should finished our duty at Digital Interface but our conversations finished in that we should try first in global.

April 8, 2012

                Six day of Duty! In this day Renerose is absent and also are co-ojt from USEP. There are only few technicians who are on duty on this day. Sir Danny and I worked immediately with the printers that we had not finished last week. On the afternoon I and Sir Jonathan go back to KarAsia to get the CCTV installed there. We had finished at 3pm and go back to the office. After the duty I go back immediately to the dorm because  I decided to go home to get my USB and the other things that I forgot to brings last time I go here in Davao.

                Seven day of Duty! In this day we have lot of works that we should do because of last day holiday. We do multi-tasking to finish the work faster; we repair desktop, laptop and assemble computers on the morning. On this day is my first disassembling a laptop at first is too hard for me because I’m not familiar what inside of the laptop.  In the afternoon I helped Sir Danny to work with the printers.

                Eight day of Duty! In this day some of the technicians are on site. So the repairs that they didn’t finished last day are our task on this day. So, we start early so we can repair more. I didn’t helped Sir Danny on this day because were too busy repairing the desktop computers.

                Nine day of Duty! In this day our co-ojt from USEP is absent. He said they have an OJT orientation on this day. We’re not too busy on this day. We only continued the work that we had not finished last day. Like continuing install an OS of the desktop computer that we assemble. Double check the computers that we already repair. We finished this day early.

                Ten day of Duty! In this day I worked again with printers on the day morning, I repaired one printer with my partner Renerose. After that repair we relax for a few minutes because there are no jobs that applicable for us at that time. On the afternoon because there is no repair waiting we watch movies on the repaired computers. After watching movie I go back to printer repair area to help Sir Danny. At 3:00 pm Sir Jayvay treat us a snack in the bakeshop, and go back to the office after. After the work we go back immediately to our dorm, because they want to go home on this day with different reasons. I am only the one who left here in davao.

                Eleventh Day of Duty! I woke up late on this day because I am the one who stayed at our dormitory last night. All of my classmates are going home last day. I waited them so we can go together on our each company that we are working. In the morning of work I helped Sir Danny with the printers and do some computer works like installing some OS on the pc. On the afternoon I go out for a moment to find a boarding house with kidy the stepchild of M’ Perl Pantojan Dean of IT. After a few hours of walking we don’t still get or find a room to rent. So I decided to do it in another day because I will go back to the office. After the office hours we go back immediately to our dorm so we can talked where we stay after this night. After short conversations we had slept.

                Twelve Day of Duty! We woke up early to take a bath, and took our breakfast beside our dormitory at Breakfast Club, then we go to our respected companies. We are not so busy today so I and renerose decided to go out for a few minutes to find some rooms to stay with. But unfortunately we didn’t find any rooms because it is too much expensive for us. In the evening we search again a room to rent we go to Matina specifically at Gravahan are the called. We had took three rooms for only 1k each. So we move there at 10pm. But then, I don’t like the place so I decided to move again to other place.

                Thirteenth Day of Duty! I woke up early this day to took a bath first because they have only one bathroom. But I’m disappointed because the water is weak. After we took our breakfast we go immediately in the boat to have some ride across the river for two pesos only. Then we walked through the Bankerohan area and came near the UIC to have a ride that will go to Bajada area. Fortunately we got late for almost twenty minutes on this day. On this day I helped again Sir Danny because I’m his assistant, also I repaired some printers with my own but with his consent. Also I do some repairs of some computers. On the afternoon after the working hours one of the employees took us to their place to show us the rooms for rent there. Luckily we find room that we know that we will be comfortable. We go back to Gravahan to took our things. We took also our dinner at the house of Archebal brother. Then after an hour we go to our respected boarding house.

                Fourteenth Day of Duty! We woke up early and took a batch one by one because there’s only one bathroom. We took our breakfast near to our room. Then we go together to our companies. This day sort of works that I’ve do. I install OS, repaired some printers, troublshoot some CPU. On the afternoon M’Perl came to get our resume that she ask us to do. After the working hours we go out immediately and return to our boarding house. Our second night is quite good because the owners of the house let us borrowed their extra stand fan. After a few hours of conversations we decided to slept.

                Fifteenth Day of Duty! We woke up early so we can go early to our work. Before I leave in our boarding house, I prepared some things to bring during the seminar this afternoon. I prepared notebook and pen. On the day morning there are 15 netbooks that are need to install an OS so we do it immediately. Because lack of flash driver and external disk drive we are only finish 6 until 4pm. On that time I decided to ask permission to the Manager of Digital Interface Mr. Angelito Sta. Ana, with an bumping heart. Fortunately Sir Lito give me permission to go out early and go to the seminar. I arrived at Jobs Academy at 4:30pm. After a short presentations about animations the program started. The Man form Google first explain about how GDG came in and tells about introductions about android. Second, Sir Christopher with his son demonstrated the PL Lua to us, they said that it is a better PL to be used in an android. After the seminar I go out and return to our boarding house and slept.

                Sixteenth Day of Duty! Woke up early and go to our work. We continue the things that we had not finished last day. We finished installing all the 15 netbooks at 12:00 noon. In the afternoon I helped Sir Danny in the printer area. I also decided to go home today to repair the computers that owned of my boss there. Unfortunately I left my flash drives in the office, will then I go home with nothing special. This day is so bad for me because sort of things that I had forgot.

                Seventh Day of Duty! I woke up early this day to prepare my self for a new day in a week of duty.  I got late today because I wait my partner because they went home last night.  Early in a work I fixed a laserjet printer the problem is that it can’t print via wireless connection. I dot it by my self because sir Danny had no idea about wireless printer. I do it more than 30 minutes , downloading a printer driver and configuring the wireless driver of the printer. After that I repaired some of the desktop computers. In the afternoon there is no much work. So we watch movie either.

                Eightenth Day of Duty!On this day I preferred my things that I should brought to our home, because I had decided that tonight I will conduct maintenance on the internet café that I had worked for more than 6 years. On the office I preferred also the softwares that I can used during the maintenance. I copied 14gb of softwares from my ojt mate with win7 and xp activator. After the office hours I got out immediately so I will came home early. I came at 9 pm and take my dinner and go to the Internet Café and started the work.

April 25, 2013

                Ninetenth Day of Duty. On this day we got early on work.  When I’m in already in the office sir Danny ask me if I with the other technician last day because he not see me, because sir Danny don’t know that I am absent last day. On that time sir Danny give me a printer to repair and diagnose what is the problem. Because I’m not so good yet I keep asking on him. After a minute I know it already and start the repair. In this day I do all printer works. After the work I go out immediately.

                20^th day of Duty. On the morning only one printer that I had finished because I and sir Ian Ponce preferred for the scheduled on site on BDO at SM Lanang on the afternoon. At 1:30 pm we go out in the office and proceed to the site. When were there we gave first a note to the head of that Branch for a confirmation of the maintenance of their printers. When we got the confirmation we start immediately because there are 18 printers that they had using. We had finished our onsite work at 4:30 pm. But before we go back to the office we go stroll first at SM Lanang to have some foods. At 5:00 pm we back to the office.

                21th day of Duty. On this day sir Lito the owner and also the Manager of the Digital Interface called us to help assembling the tripod and projector because at the afternoon they had a Demo for an EPSON projector and EPSON 3D glasses. In that time sir Lito for the first time knows our name. After we assembled sir Lito give us oppurtunity first to used the 3D glassed,it amazed me because of its clear view and amazing effects. On the other hand Sir Ren Pisao, tought ask how to configure a Router and how can we get the defualt IP address of an router. He discuss to ask how to connect the router and how the router works. After the verbal explanation he do it lively so we can understand deeply. This day had finished with much knowledge that I had learned.

 
 

My Experiences on this week

Introduction:       

               

               Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an opportunity to apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also helps us to obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum.

                For us students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipment’s, and documents. In effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from academy.

                The following paragraphs below are the happenings from April 1, 2013 to April 6, 2013.

April 1, 2013

                I woke up early to prepare my things that should I brought to Davao City to be use during my stays and duties. I came to Digos at 9:00 am but I arrived at 10:30am because there are too many passengers waiting for a ride. I finish enrolling my Senior Internship at 12:00 noon. We leave Digos City 2:00 pm and we arrive Davao City at 3:00 pm. After putting are bags into the cabinets of the dorm, our dean give us little instructions and we proceed to the companies that we are assigned. But, Ms. Cheng is not there because they said that she goes home last day and she will return tomorrow. We decided with my partner to go back to the dorm, but we are confusing what route we should precede because both of us are not familiar in that place. So we go first at Gaisano Mall for a moment to buy some items. Then we ride a jeep, because both of us are shy to ask to the driver us both losses. So we text our classmates that we will go back to Ateneo, then when we reach Ateneo we ride a trysicad going to the dorm. This day, is one the days that me and my partner will never forget for this OJT.

April 2, 2013

                First day of duty! I took a bath early and eat breakfast at Breakfast Club outside the dorm. I’m so excited and fell slight tense because when we are there the manager should interview us. But that time was with us, the manager discontinued the interview and automatically we start our OJT. I had assigned at Technical Area under Mr. Danny Calan, the Senior of all technician of Digital Interface. At first , I observed how Sir Calan repairs the printers. Onwards of that day I had start helping him, at the meantime I am his assistant.

April 3, 2013

                Second day of duty! This day we started by assembling a desktop computer. After all the desktop computers has been assembled I proceed to the printer repair area to help Sir Calan. This day I repaired a Dot Matrix Printer. After our work we go to Uyanggurin to buy some stuff with or officemate and also our tour guide for that day he is Joseph “seph” for short from USEP. We decided to took our dinner there we eat streetfoods just what we do in Digos City. Seph treat us Durian and softdrinks after our dinner, and then we go back to our dorm. But our classmates texted us that they are at Karla father house. We go there and we had meet at front of Grand Mensing Hotel, and decided to have some walk to San Pedro to buy some stuff also. After an hour we decided to go back to the dorm by walking, from San Perdro Cathedral to the dorm. When we arrived dorm we are all exhausted, we had relax for a few minutes and took half bath and go sleep.

April 4, 2013

                Third day of duty! In this day of duty we are late in the morning for almost 15 minutes because we woke up late. When we enter in the office all of the employees are almost there except of Mr. Calan that came at 9:00 am. When he arrived we immediately started repairing printers. But I also watched to the other technician repairing and troubleshooting desktop and laptop computers to have an extra leanings. After we go Gaisano Mall to buy some t-shirt, and then we go back to the dorm and eat our dinner.

April 5, 2013

                Fourth day of duty! In this day we came early. I continued my work that I didn’t finish last day. I repair the desktop computer that Sir Bong given to me. In that day, some of the technician is on sites so we are getting busy repairing of some computers because the owners are waiting outside to claim it. But in the afternoon we are getting bored because there are only few customers. After the duty we go Roxas to meet our ITE Dean, and she treat us snack at Miami Foods beside Marco Polo Hotel. We had shared some of our experiences that we had on our duties. While eating our Maam Perl told us what we should do after the 200 hours, if we want to proceed on that company or find other companies to spend the other 200 hours. After short conversations we go out and go to Gaisano Mall to have an window shopping, go back to the dorm and sleep.

April 6, 2013

                Fifth day of duty! In this day I on site with Mr. Jonathan to demo the CCTV camera to the KarAsia, we both manually installed the camera, more than 30 meters away from the monitoring screen. Sir Jonathan thought me how to installed the CCTV because he told me before we arrived at the KarAsia company, to have and extra learning except of software because I am an IT he will thought we installing a CCTV camera because this is need by many companies. I am very happy when I hear that. Before 12:00 noon we decided to leave what we do and return after we took our lunch, we go back to the Main Office. At 1:00 pm we go back to KarAsia and continued what he had started and we had finish 3pm. The demo start immediately with the owner of the KarAsia. After the demo, the owner told us that we can now remove or dismantle the CCTV. But we only dismantle some of the Wires and monitors and we leave the CCTV hang on the wall, and decided to do it on Monday. We go back to the Main Office at 5:00 pm. After the work we go back immediately to the dorm to prefer our use clothes that we should bring to our home. I am the one who not only returned to our home rather I go to my brother’s house to spent the night because that day is his birthday.
